The 2019 Pony Club Australia National Championships will be held at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre, Horsley Park from Monday 7 October to Sunday 13 October 2019.
Expressions of Interest are sought from eligible members wishing to represent Victoria in the disciplines of Dressage, Eventing, Showjumping, Mounted Games, Tetrathlon & Quiz. Riders can also apply to be a member of the Formal Gymkhana team as a 2nd discipline.
The Nationals Advisory Sub Committee has now been involved in co-ordinating the Victorian Team for the past three Nationals, the last being in Toowoomba, Queensland in 2017. Expressions of Interest were sort from officials, parents and previous Nationals competitors to form the 2019 committee earlier this year. The committee comprising of a wide cross section of the Pony Club community is well underway in planning for the 2019 event, as well as the 2021 event which will be hosted by Pony Club Victoria.
Representing Victoria at a National Championship is an honour and the culmination of many years of training and hard work for riders. It represents the commitment that riders and their families have made to Pony Club over many years.
Previous riders have said what a privilege it has been to represent their State and how much them have enjoyed being a member of a team and being involved in a multi-discipline event. They have made life- long friends and have continued to support the Pony Club movement through international exchanges and team representation, as well as becoming more involved at grass roots through their local clubs and zones.
We are delighted to announce that in 2019 we will be sending sub-junior teams in the disciplines of Dressage, Showjumping and Tetrathlon and a Junior and Senior Quiz team.
I encourage all eligible riders to consider submitting an application to join the 2019 Victorian Team. Please complete the Application Form and the Performance Record (if applicable) and return to the PCV office by 30th November 2018.
Selection is based on several factors including your performances throughout 2018, your placing at the relevant State Championship in 2019, your commitment and support of Pony Club in general and your personal attributes as a team member. Selectors will be watching your performances in the next six months prior to the announcement of the various teams in May, June and July. There will be both optional and compulsory training and team sessions in the lead up to the competition. There will also be plenty of opportunities to get involved in the various fundraising activities.
You haven’t got much time so get your applications in quick. Good luck!
